Latest news on Mary Ann. I just visited with Mary Ann’s Aunt Lydia. Mary Ann is being kept in isolation at the present time. She does have shingles on the right side of her body and also a rash that looks somewhat like ring worms. She is running a high fever and they have her on morphine for the pain. Her throat is extremely sore so swallowing is also difficult. They expect her to remain in isolation five to seven days. Please keep her in your prayers. She is a very sick little girl.

Mary Ann completed her radiation treatments on Sunday, October 15th in Bloomington. I understand her entire family traveled down to celebrate the big day with her. Doctors had planned to resume her chemotherapy today in Indianapolis. However, it appears like she may have a case of shingles now and they made the decision to hospitalize her. I will try to post another update as soon as I have details.
“A Story of Faith” made front page of the Oklahoma Baptist Messenger today. (circulation 80,000) We hope the publicity will boost sales and move us further towards our goal of selling the remaining 2000 books in inventory before Christmas.

Mary Ann was scheduled to begin her fifth week of radiation this week but she hasn’t been feeling very well. The last chemotherapy treatment she had on the 22nd of September left her with very little energy. Combine that with the strong radiation and it was more than her little body could endure. She was unable to have radiation on both Monday and Tuesday of this week but the treatments resumed on Wednesday. I’m sure she and her mother weren’t ready to start again but the doctors said they can’t postpone the treatments a moment longer. Her mouth is extremely sore and the radiation has left her nose irritated. Even liquids are hard to swallow and she desperately needs the nutrition. This cancer is so aggressive they are afraid it will start growing again and if it does there is nothing else they can do. Please keep both Mary Ann and her family in your prayers.
We need a miracle ! ! ! BOOK UPDATE: Book sales were very good in September — we’ve recouped most of our expenses in a very short time. To date we have been able to send the family $1729.10. — This all came in donations made directly to her medical care and had nothing to do with book sales. — We would love to sell all the books before Christmas and at least give this family some relief from the financial stress. Thank you for your support of this ministry — we believe with God all things are possible.
